01 / PATHZN

From “saved for later”
to a place to start.

I’m co-founding Pathzn, a mobile app that helps people organize saved content and turn the ideas that matter into actionable steps. I lead the product design, connecting behavioral research, onboarding, and hands-on AI product development with the experience we’re building.

FROM SAVED IDEAS TO SOMETHING REAL.

01 / THE QUESTION

What happens after save?

I began with a retrieval problem: people collect useful content across platforms, then struggle to find it again. But organizing a collection doesn’t necessarily help someone act on it. A save preserves the idea while leaving out the timing, resources, and first step.

02 / THE REFRAME

The folder wasn’t the whole problem.

Reviewing behavioral research led me to a working hypothesis: saving can provide a small sense of completion. The design opportunity became more selective—help people identify the saves they actually want to act on, without turning every interest into a task.

03 / RESEARCH INTO DESIGN

A reason behind each decision.

Digital-accumulation research informed lightweight organization. Implementation intentions informed specific first steps after commitment. Fogg’s Behavior Model informed reducing effort before prompting action. Research on AI trust informed source links, explanations, and correction controls.

PATHZN / INSIDE THE APP

A small step.
A different tomorrow.

04 / USER AGENCY

The AI drafts. The user decides.

Pathzn receives content the user deliberately shares. It proposes a summary and category, makes content searchable, and can explain patterns across related saves. A Path is offered—not silently created. Accepting, postponing, and dismissing are all valid outcomes.

PROPOSED INTERACTION / EXPLAINABLE BY DESIGN

“You’ve saved several videos about starting a home garden.”

Want to turn them into a Path?

AcceptMaybe laterDismiss

Three valid responses. Only one creates a commitment.

05 / THE EXPERIENCE

A library first. A plan when it matters.

The proposed experience moves from capture to understanding to retrieval. When a person accepts a suggestion, a Path brings together a few editable, source-linked steps and a realistic first move. Content that never becomes a Path still belongs in the library.

06 / BUILDING & VALIDATION

Building toward real-world use.

Pathzn is in development. Alongside the interface, I’m working with AI extraction workflows and event analytics in PostHog and Segment to understand onboarding, activation, and return use. This gives me a way to connect product decisions to observable behavior and iterate on activation experiments. The next stage is to test the core experience with regular savers, refine when suggestions feel useful, and learn from a beta using real saved content. The evaluation plan focuses on retrieval, relevance, trust, control, and perceived pressure. Longer-term use will help us understand whether the app makes follow-through easier.

THE IDEA I CARRY FORWARD

Success is whether the saves that genuinely mattered became easier to act on.
